"Big Bang" tomography as a new route to atomic-resolution electron tomography.
Nature 2012 #7402

From the title, I guess that the authors designed the new method of tomography to detect the atomic-level substance. The "Big Bang" is very attractive and it enables me to associate it with current hot drama, the Big Bang Theory. However, according to the explanation, the background of picture that is taken in this method looks like Big Bang cosmology. In some degree, "Big Bang" tomography can discriminate four types of atom so that it promotes our observing level for micro material.

Nucleotide-dependent conformations of FtsZ dimers and force generation observed through molecular dynamic simulations.
PNAS, 2012,Vol.109, No 24, 9432-9438

Although the structure of FtsZ has been resolved, the mechanism how the FtsZ generates mechanical constriction foce is unidentified. In this paper, the authours used the computational method to simulate conformational dynamic of FtsZ. dependent on the transfer of GTP/GDP binding state. GTP-FtsZ is usually be in straight, while the GTP is hydrolyzed to GDP, the complex would form curved filament to generate the constrict force.
